TUT Opera performs in Sunnyside
TUT Opera perfoms Rossini’s La Cenerentola show at Breytenbach Theatre in Sunnyside.
The Rossina’s La Cenerentola, performed by students of Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Performing Arts (Vocal Art), started on a high note at Breytenbach Theatre in Sunnyside on Friday.
The musical production will run until 24 August.
La Cenerentola is the uniquely Italian retelling of the ultimate rags-to-riches story.
The comedic love story sails through flowery ensembles, a florid cavatina, a gruesome duet and resolves with a fairy tale finale, requiring a virtuoso singer of reputable character.
Following performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the next performances will take place on 20, 22, and 24 August at 19:30, except on the 24th where the show starts at 15:00.
