Music show to thrill residents

The musical game show titled 'What’s that Sound?' will take place at the State Theatre in July.

Music lovers wanting to dig their teeth into the next best thing can look forward to What’s that Sound, a fun and interactive music game show to be held at the State Theatre.

From 9 to 13 July, theatre goers can enjoy a fun-filled show complete with two live bands and a performance by the Steve Hofmeyr impersonator, Ben Posthumus. Posthumus was part of a rugby interview talk show on Jacaranda FM where he was chosen as the best Hofmeyr impersonator.

The show will also feature hits from international icons like U2, Theuns Jordaan, Steve Hofmeyr, Creedance Clearwater Revival and Bon Jovi and viewers will be able to sit back and relive their favourite music legends complete with costumes to match.

The cast and band include Leonard Griebenouw – acoustic guitar and vocal; Johan Barnard – electric guitar; Hennie Ebersohn – bass guitar; Jaco Nel – acoustic guitar, keyboard and vocal; Jaco Prinsloo – vocal; Lenay Barnard – vocal; Kobus Van Staden – vocal; Melissa Viljoen – vocal; Piet Barnard – vocal; Riaan Olivier – vocal; Ben Posthumus – acoustic guitar and vocal; Martin van Staden – vocal; Yolande Birch – vocal; Janico Steyn – electric guitar; Anton Nel – electric guitar; Thys van Deventer – drums; Corne Boshoff – keyboard.

Shows will start at 20:00 except for the final performance on 13 July that will start at 15:00.
