Loyiso Bala met his fans at Cum Books shop in Menlyn Retail Park in the east of Pretoria on Saturday.

Fans of the multiple awards winning musical artist, Loyiso Bala, had an opportunity to shake hands, hug and have photos taken with him at Cum Books in Menlyn Retail Park in the east of Pretoria on Saturday.

Bala also signed his CDs and DVDs sold on the day at the shop.

People mostly bought his latest gospel album called PowerLoveSound.

Lina Sewanywa, a fan of Bala, said his music always lifts her up when she was down.

“It helps me keep to focus on God and praise him,” Sewanywa said.

Bala said his latest CD of 12 songs including an intro had one message which was Power Love Sound that was taken from 2 Timothy 1: 7, which says for God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, of love and a sound mind.

Bala encouraged the youth to stay away from drugs and to focus on education.

“Drugs are easily available out there. It will destroy your future. Fill your minds with knowledge and education,” Bala said.

He advised young people to work on becoming prosperous in three areas: the spirit, the soul and the body.

“The spirit only grows by the word of God, and soul is expanded by educating ourselves and the body last longer by eating well, exercising, sleeping and not taking drugs and drinking water,” he said.

Bala also raised the issue of piracy and slammed the people involved with it, describing them as destroyers of the music industry.

He expressed concern about a new trend of piracy that is done through digital downloading.

“Sending a song to another cell phone is actually piracy. It takes money away from an artist… don’t download stuff you haven’t paid for,” Bala said.

He encouraged the youth to take up the fight against piracy to protect the music industry and the artists in the country.
