Young Ad Designers award ceremony raging success

The Young Ad Designers award ceremony celebrated the artworks of young local creative minds

The Young Ad Designers Competiiton 2014 had their award ceremony on Monday 19 May, at the Open Window School of Visual Communication.

According to Rekord’s group editor and the top mind behind this project, Sunette Visser, the main objective of the project was to inspire local creative minds.

“With this special project we aimed to provide imaginative, young individuals with an opportunity to gain creative confidence, as it is they who will mature into radical discoverers, inventors and changemakers,” Visser said.

The evening’s proceedings were led by Rekord’s advertising sales manager, Sabine Goodman, while the prizes were handed out by Visser.

The winners in the three categories received prizes totalling R134 000, including a bursary and short courses from the Open Window School of Visual Communication, cash prizes from Netbank and art supplies from Jimnettes.

The over-all winning school of the project was Sutherland High School, who won the grand prize of an Epson Interactive projector.

Attending the evening on behalf of the Executive Mayor of the Tshwane metro was Nozipho Makeke, a member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture Council.

The winners were all excited about the evening, seeing their artworks displayed on the walls and receiving their prizes.
