“The ICE Age is over with the arrival of the new Riddara RD6,” declares Gideon Wolfaardt, the CEO of the Enviro Automotive Group.

Enviro Auto is excited to announce the arrival of the first fully electric Riddara RD6 bakkie in South Africa. It is manufactured by Geely.

“We are thrilled to be the first to introduce this electric 4×4 to the South African market. The Enviro Automotive Group will provide comprehensive aftercare service and parts, ensuring peace of mind for our customers,” says Gideon.

At launch, Enviro Auto will offer the RD6 in 4×2 and 4×4 models, equipped with a 73kWh battery providing a 424km range on a single charge. The 4×4 model boasts a potent 315kW dual-motor powertrain, delivering 595Nm of torque and enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration in just 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 190km/h.

The RD6 is designed to excel in both everyday driving and off-road adventures, featuring a spacious and versatile storage capacity and a one-tonne payload. In addition to the substantial 1 200-litre load bay, it offers 48 litres of hidden storage in the vehicle, along with a 70-litre front trunk. For larger loads, the RD6 boasts a significant 3 000kg towing capacity.

Utilising a 110kW charger, the RD6’s battery can be recharged in 30 minutes. The battery can also discharge up to 6kW, providing power for site equipment or household appliances during power outages.

The vehicle comes with a comprehensive five-year/150 000km warranty and an eight-year/200 000km battery warranty.

Both the 4×2 and 4×4 models will come standard with this extensive warranty package. Enviro Automotive will also offer a remote monitoring solution for the battery and vehicle through Webfleet.

Enviro Automotive plans to introduce an extended range, 86kWh 4×4 model, as well as a more accessible 63kWh 4×2 model, shortly.

The Riddara RD6 will be available to South African consumers starting in May 2025. Pricing for all models will be announced shortly.
