GWM defies economic challenges with strong growth

The Chinese automaker GWM continues to thrive despite global economic headwinds.

GWM has reported impressive growth in overseas sales and profits, driven by its focus on high-value models and product innovation. The company’s strategy of adapting to local markets and expanding its global footprint is paying off.

From January to June, GWM sold over 201 500 vehicles overseas, a 62.59% increase year-on-year. This momentum has propelled the company to record profits, with nett profit expected to soar by up to 436.26% compared to the same period in 2023.

GWM’s president, Parker Shi, emphasised the company’s commitment to global expansion and its ability to navigate geopolitical challenges through a focus on high-value products and local production. The automaker is expanding its manufacturing footprint with new factories in Ecuador, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Ghana, Indonesia and Malaysia.

To meet the diverse needs of global consumers, GWM offers a wide range of products across multiple energy sources and categories. Recent highlights include the launch of the Haval Jolion Pro in Australia, South Africa and Saudi Arabia, the Haval Dargo in Uzbekistan, and the flagship GWM Tank 300 in Malaysia.

With a target of 500 000 overseas sales for 2024, GWM is well-positioned for continued growth and success in the global automotive market.
