Maserati celebrates racing heritage with limited edition MC20s
Maserati unveiled two exclusive MC20 models, the Icona and Leggenda, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the MC12's return to racing.
Maserati is revving up its racing heritage by introducing the MC20 Icona and Leggenda, two limited-edition (20 units each) supercars honouring the 20th anniversary of the iconic MC12.
A legacy reborn
The MC12, a road-legal version of a successful race car, left its mark on the track and inspired the design of the MC20. The new limited editions pay homage to the MC12’s legacy through unique liveries and design elements.
MC20 Icona: This model dons a striking colour scheme reminiscent of the MC12 Stradale, itself inspired by the Maserati Trofeo Light and ultimately the Maserati Birdcage Type 61. Special touches include the Maserati Fuoriserie personalisation programme’s bianco audace matte and blu stradale livery, carbon fibre engine cover, and blue brake calipers.
MC20 Leggenda: The Leggenda celebrates the victorious MC12 GT1 under the Vitaphone Racing team. Its nero essenza and digital mint matte livery reflects the race car’s colours. At the same time, the Fuoriserie package adds black brake calipers, Nero Lucido wheels with contrasting accents, and a yellow trident logo on the grille and doors.
Racing spirit, refined interior
Both MC20 special editions boast a racing-inspired interior featuring lightweight bucket seats with model-specific embroidery (“Icona” or “Leggenda”) and the trident logo on the headrest. The sophisticated Sonus faber sound system and carbon fibre interior package further elevate the driving experience.
A testament to performance
The MC20 Icona and Leggenda are powered by the same innovative V6 Nettuno engine found in the standard MC20. This powertrain delivers exceptional performance, upholding the Maserati tradition of excellence on the track.
