Isuzu proudly holds top spot in commercial vehicle segment

Isuzu has secured its position as the top choice among commercial and agriculture users, maintaining its lead in the cab-over-chassis medium and heavy commercial markets in South Africa.

In 2023, Isuzu Trucks continued to dominate the medium commercial vehicle segment, achieving a total volume sales figure of 1 632 units. While this represents a modest 5.1% decline from the 2022 figure of 1 720 units, Isuzu Trucks consistently held the top volume-selling cab-over-chassis position throughout the entire year. Notably, March emerged as a standout month, recording an exceptional 198 units in sales.

The heavy commercial vehicle segment witnessed sales totaling 1 160 units last year, with a market share of 21.2%, demonstrating growth from 2022. Among the various models, the NPR 400 and FTR 850 emerged as the top volume-selling derivatives, highlighting Isuzu’s versatility in meeting diverse market demands.

Expressing immense pride in this accomplishment, Craig Uren, the senior vice president of revenue generation at Isuzu Motors South Africa, acknowledged the pivotal role played by valued customers, dealerships and partners in sustaining the brand’s success. “We are immensely proud of this achievement and grateful for the support of our valued customers, dealerships and partners who have played a crucial role in our continued success.”

He further emphasised the brand’s commitment to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions, reaffirming Isuzu Trucks’s dedication to setting industry standards and shaping the future of commercial transportation.
