Hyundai continues to make waves in the US, securing six prestigious awards at the 2023 Good Design Awards, reinforcing its commitment to innovative and globally competitive design.

Hyundai Motor Company has once again demonstrated its prowess in innovative design by clinching six top honours at the 2023 Good Design Awards in the US.

The accolades, including four in the transportation category and two in the interactive media category, highlight Hyundai’s consistent commitment to cutting-edge design.

SangYup Lee, executive vice president and head of Hyundai and Genesis Global Design, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We feel a tremendous sense of honour to receive an acknowledgment from the Good Design Awards for these significant vehicles and innovations”.

Lee emphasised the dedication of Hyundai’s visionary designers and collaborative engineers, highlighting the brand’s exceptional competitiveness in the global market.

In the transportation category, Hyundai Motor achieved the honour of having four products selected: the N Vision 74, IONIQ 6, Grandeur (Azera), and Kona.

The N Vision 74, a high-performance hydrogen hybrid “rolling lab,” secured a grand-slam by winning all four major global design awards (iF, IDEA, Red Dot, Good Design).

Hyundai IONIQ 6

The IONIQ 6 distinguished itself with a sleek exterior and stylish interior design, boasting the lowest aerodynamic drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.21 among all Hyundai Motor vehicles.

The new Kona, with its unique future-oriented image, inherited iconic design elements and reflected elegance through prominent surfaces and sharp lines.

Hyundai also received awards in the interactive media category for the Seon connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) infotainment system and the Hyundai Sans UI, a mobility-exclusive font.

Haeyoung Kwon, vice president and head of the Infotainment Development Centre, emphasised the customer-centric approach, stating, “With this intuitive and attractive design, we’ve provided a familiar and comfortable interface for our customers to enhance their overall experience.”

Celebrating its 73rd year in 2023, the Good Design Awards, initiated in 1950, is the world’s oldest design awards, recognised for authenticity and authority.
