Revolutionising the mobility industry

“Kia’s PBV business represents our vision of going beyond the traditional concept of automobiles by fulfilling the unmet needs of diverse customers and communities through optimised vehicles and services catering to specific market and business circumstances,” said Ho Sung Song, Kia’s president and CEO.

Phase 1: Introduction of the Kia PV5

The PV5 features conversion capability, allowing it to adapt to diverse customer needs. Integrating enhanced data connectivity enables the operation of multiple vehicles as a software-defined fleet, minimising downtime and boosting cost-effectiveness.

Phase 2: AI-based mobility platforms

These platforms use data to interact with users, ensuring vehicles are always up to date.

Phase 3: Customisable, bespoke mobility solutions

Kia’s strategy integrates with the future mobility ecosystem. These PBVs transform into life platforms managing self-driving vehicles as part of a single smart city operating system. This phase promises a hyper-connected world, ushering in new lifestyles through a robust PBV ecosystem.

Innovative design and sustainability

Kia’s PBVs are designed to make users’ lives easier, featuring ‘Easy Swap’ technology that allows a single vehicle chassis to fulfill multiple mobility needs. Whether transporting people, and goods or meeting logistics and personal mobility needs, each PBV embodies a consistent quality of design, reflecting robustness and capability.

Sustainability is at the core, with the use of eco-friendly materials such as bioplastic, recycled PET fabric and bio-PU foam.

The brand will also launch a dedicated business system, encompassing the entire process from product line-up to software integration and global partnerships.

Other solutions that will be on offer include, among others, fleet management and charging solutions.
