Unveiling the new Isuzu D-Max X-Rider: A bakkie beyond boundaries

Get ready to meet the bold and distinctive Isuzu D-Max X-Rider, setting new standards in style, capability and performance.

Originally launched as a limited edition model in 2016, the Isuzu X-Rider quickly gained popularity and became an integral part of the standard line-up. Now, the all-new X-Rider builds on this legacy, offering elevated design elements and upscale features.

Kevin Fouche, a department executive at Isuzu Motors South Africa, notes, “The new D-Max X-Rider is all about image, style and capability, making it an excellent choice for customers seeking something special.”

The D-Max X-Rider captivates with its assertive character, featuring a sleek black gloss grille adorned with bold red Isuzu lettering. The X-Rider badges on the front doors and tailgate, coupled with a black Isuzu tailgate decal, reinforce its exclusive status. LED headlamps, fog lamps and taillamps, along with stylish black accents and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, contribute to its upmarket appearance.

Leather seats with red contrast stitching and embroidered red ‘X’ logos on the headrests add a sporty flair. The cabin boasts a red-stitched steering wheel with a red Isuzu badge, creating a cohesive design with various red elements throughout.

Its distinctive dark interior surfaces, a dark headliner and X-Rider floor mats complete the exclusive look, setting this bakkie apart from other D-Max models.

The X-Rider boasts Isuzu’s frugal 1.9-litre Ddi engine, known for its remarkable fuel efficiency. It delivers a maximum of 110kW and 350Nm. The engine is available with two transmission options: a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic, offering a smooth driving experience.

The X-Rider maintains high standards in performance, featuring a maximum wading depth of 800mm, improved underbody protection, enhanced aerodynamics and a quick-engaging shift-on-the-fly 4×4 drive system in the 4×4 model.

Safety is a priority for the X-Rider, incorporating an impressive set of standard safety features. These include airbags for both the driver and front passengers, curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag. Active safety features like ABS (anti-lock braking system) brakes, electronic stability control and hill start assist further enhance the driving experience.

The X-Rider range includes three models in an LS trim grade, all available in double-cab configuration. The range comprises the 1.9 Ddi D/Cab HR X-Rider LS with a six-speed manual, the HR X-Rider LS AT, and the 4×4 X-Rider LS AT, both equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.

All models come standard with cruise control, a seven-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a six-speaker audio system, Wi-Fi compatibility and rear park assist with a rear-view camera.

Pricing details for the all-new D-Max X-Rider will be released soon, inviting customers to experience a bakkie that transcends boundaries in style, comfort and capability.
