Aehra sedan promises to blend Italian style and modern EV tech

Following the successful introduction of the SUV model last year, the Aehra sedan promises a harmonious fusion of classic Italian design principles and state-of-the-art EV technology.

Aehra, an emerging ultra-premium electric automotive brand, has recently unveiled exclusive preview images of its highly anticipated Sedan model, which aims to set new benchmarks in EV design and efficiency.

While there are no official details regarding the powertrain of the saloon, it is likely to somewhat resemble the performance capabilities of the SUV. The SUV derivative incorporates a tri-motor setup with two power units on the rear axle and one at the front, generating a combined power output of 592kW. The sedan and SUV share a 3-metre-long mono-body platform, providing a solid foundation for their respective designs

To ensure ample energy storage, Aehra has integrated a 120 kWh battery built by Austrian company Miba into both the Sedan and SUV. The brand has set an ambitious target of achieving a range of 800 km, catering to the needs of drivers seeking extended journeys without range anxiety. Charging capabilities are equally impressive, with the ability to recharge at rates of up to 350kW, thanks to the implementation of 925 volt battery technology.

Notably, the Sedan and SUV support bi-directional charging, enabling them to function as power sources for external devices, such as residential homes. This would be a handy feature for South African households during load-shedding, although the model isn’t anticipated to arrive in any African markets when it goes on sale in the second half of the decade.

Hazim Nada, CEO and Co-Founder of Aehra, has expressed the brand’s strategic mission to redefine the automotive customer experience by offering ultra-premium vehicles engineered and manufactured using top-notch technologies, materials, and methodologies available in the global automotive industry.

The brand plans to introduce its models in key markets, including North America, Europe, China, and the Gulf States, as part of its strategic model rollout in 2026.
