New Cherokee to continue the 81 year Jeep legend

Now with third row seats and more advance engineering, the Cherokee confirms its world-class status within the luxury 4x4 segment.

The All-New Jeep Grand Cherokee L is re-engineered with a focus to optimise comfort and handling, while reducing weight, improving fuel economy and delivering improved 4×4 capability along with unrivalled premium on-road driving dynamics.

Legendary off-road capability begins courtesy of three 4×4 systems – Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II with rear electronic limited slip-differential (eLSD). All three systems are equipped with an active transfer case to improve traction by moving torque to work with the wheel with the most grip. The Grand Cherokee L’s class-leading Selec-Terrain traction management system lets customers choose the on- and off-road setting for optimum 4×4 performance with five available terrain modes (auto, sport, rock, snow, mud/sand) to provide optimised calibrations for any given driving scenario.

Additional to the three 4×4 systems, for the first time in the history of the model, the Grand Cherokee L offers a class-exclusive Quadra-Lift Air Suspension, featuring electronic adaptive damping. The Quadra-Lift Air Suspension delivers a best-in-class ground clearance, at 277mm, while also adjusting height automatically based on road conditions and speed to reduce drag and for better fuel economy.

Award-winning powertrains

The All-New Jeep Grand Cherokee L offers buyers a fuel-efficient and refined engine with proven performance for any driving situation.

Standard is the all-aluminum 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine, rated at 210kW and 344Nm of torque. Lauded for its power and refinement, the 60-degree angle between the Pentastar V-6’s cylinder banks make it inherently smooth running, augmented by accessories that bolt directly to the engine block. Fuel-saving engine start-stop (ESS) technology is also standard on the Pentastar V6.

Design: Unparalleled refinement, uncompromising craftsmanship

Exterior design

The proportion of the All-New Grand Cherokee L was inspired by the original Wagoneer, Jeep’s first full-size luxury SUV. For the first time, a premium, full suite of LED lighting is standard on all Jeep Grand Cherokee trim levels.

Interior design

“Utterly breathtaking interior,” noted Wards 10 Best judge Drew Winter. “A stunning mixture of rich colours and lavish materials.” The editorial staff of Wards, a global leader in automotive intelligence, selected the winners after evaluating 33 vehicles, which were scored on ergonomics, comfort, fit-and-finish, material quality and aesthetics.

The Grand Cherokee L offers the most available technology features in its class. With the addition of new front and rear interactive displays, the Grand Cherokee L now boasts more than 30 inches of total available digital screen space.

Most advanced, high-tech safety and security features in its class

The All-New Jeep Grand Cherokee L offers more than 110 safety and security features, including innovative applications of technologies that refine the connection between driver, vehicle and the road.

These features enhance a driver’s field of vision, help make instrumentation easier to see and enable driver-assist capabilities that accommodate collision avoidance.

Among the safety features available across the Grand Cherokee L line-up are:

• Full-speed collision Warning with active braking and pedestrian/cyclist detection
• Parallel and perpendicular park assist with 360 degree surround view camera system with built-in washers on both front and rear camera lenses.
• Night vision camera with pedestrian and animal detection (*summit reserve)
• Adaptive cruise control with stop and go.

Advanced technology: Segment-leading offerings

The Jeep Grand Cherokee L features the latest, most advanced Uconnect system ever, with a 10.1-inch display and intuitive user experience. The All-New Uconnect 5 delivers operating speeds that are five times faster when compared to the previous generation. By using an Android operating system and over-the-air updates, Uconnect 5 brings flexibility that will allow the system to continuously evolve to offer new content, features and services.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is also the first production Jeep vehicle to offer a fully digital rearview mirror. The digital rearview mirror displays video in real time from a rear-facing camera, offering an image that is unobstructed by the D-pillars or rear seats. It also reverts back to a traditional reflective mirror.
