United Arab Emirates airspace closure disrupts SA flights
Passengers travelling from South Africa are advised to contact their respective airlines or the relevant embassies directly for the latest flight schedule updates.
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has confirmed that the current closure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) airspace is affecting flights operated by Emirates and Qatar Airways.
As a result, several flights have been cancelled at major South African airports, reports Kempton Express.
Current flight disruptions:
- O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB): Eight cancellations (seven outbound and one inbound)
- Cape Town International Airport (CPT): Four outbound cancellations
- King Shaka International Airport (DUR): Two outbound cancellations
Passengers are strongly advised to contact their respective airlines or relevant embassies directly for the latest updates on flight schedules and travel arrangements.
ACSA reiterated its commitment to the safety of all travellers and extended its thoughts to those affected by the disruptions.
