Tiffany Meek denied bail in murder case of son Jayden-Lee (11)
The Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court found Tiffany Meek’s conduct misleading and flagged concerns about public safety and interference with the investigation.
Tiffany Nicole Meek (31), the mother accused of murdering her son, Jayden-Lee Meek (11), will remain in custody until September after her bail application was denied today in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
Roodepoort Record reports that Meek was arrested early in July and is facing charges of murder, defeating or obstructing the administration of justice, crimen injuria and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Magistrate Anneline Africa said, among other reasons, Meek has been dishonest and misled the court.
Africa highlighted several factors, including the strength of the state’s case built on circumstantial evidence, Meek’s alleged attempts to mislead investigators, her affidavit having omitted timelines and the risk she poses to public safety and the administration of justice.

“The case will be back in court on September 17. We’ve requested the postponement, as the state, to conclude the investigation. We are hoping that much of the outstanding statements that the investigating officer talked about during the bail application stage would have been collected, so that we can then move forward,” she said.

Acting Gauteng Police Commissioner Major General Fred Kekana said they are pleased with the course of justice, as police have been receiving a lot of backlash in this case.
