Sir Richard Branson’s wife, Joan, passes away
A touching tribute from Sir Richard Branson reflects on five decades of partnership as he pays tribute to his wife Joan’s life and legacy.
English business magnate and founder of the Virgin Group, Sir Richard Branson, has announced that his wife Joan (80) has passed away.
In a heartfelt message published on several of his social media platforms, Branson wrote: “Heartbroken to share that Joan, my wife and partner for 50 years, has passed away. She was the most wonderful mum and grandmum our kids and grandkids could have ever wished for. She was my best friend, my rock, my guiding light, my world. Love you forever, Joan.”
The couple met at a recording studio in 1976 and had been married since 1989, reports The Mirror. It was love at first sight for Branson, who had been very vocal about his love for his wife on social media over the years.
Joan is survived by her husband, their two children and three grandchildren.
