Sassa confirms January grant payment dates
Sassa has confirmed its first 2026 grant payment dates and urged beneficiaries not to rush as funds will remain available once deposited.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) will pay its first social grants of 2026 to beneficiaries in the second week of January.
The Witness reports that with the official dates for payments now confirmed, Sassa has requested beneficiaries not to rush to collect on the first day, as funds will remain available in their accounts until needed.
The dates for grant payments are:
- Old age grant: Tuesday, January 6
- Disability grant: Wednesday, January 7
- Child grants: Thursday, January 8
