Roodepoort security officer shot during early morning house robbery

A security officer is receiving treatment in hospital after four armed robbers opened fire on him in Struben Valley.

A security officer was wounded early this morning while responding to a house robbery in Struben Valley, Roodepoort, Johannesburg.

Roodepoort Record reports that according to MGN Security marketing officer Thato Maloma, the incident occurred at about 03:30 when a reaction officer attended a house robbery.

Upon arrival, the officer encountered four armed robbers. During the confrontation, the robbers opened fire, striking the officer before fleeing the scene. Emergency assistance was immediately arranged and the injured officer was transported to hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

The four suspects remain at large and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Maloma thanked all responding teams and authorities for their swift support during the incident.
