Police seek persons of interest in Dunnottar murder probe

Authorities are searching for several individuals who may have information related to the death of a man who was accused of theft in Ekurhuleni.

The Ekurhuleni District SAPS is appealing to the public for assistance in locating several persons of interest who may be able to assist with an ongoing murder investigation in Dunnottar, reports Heidelberg Nigel Heraut.

According to the office of the district commissioner, Major General Anna Sithole, the individuals depicted in circulated images are believed to have information related to a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm that later escalated into murder.

The incident occurred in February, when a 22-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in Dunnottar after being suspected of theft. It is reported that a group of approximately six men were involved in the attack.

The victim later succumbed to his injuries, leading to the case being changed to murder.

Police have confirmed that one suspect has been arrested so far, while efforts continue to trace additional individuals who may have information crucial to the investigation.
