Missing woman’s body found in shallow Mpumalanga grave

Three people are in police custody facing charges of murder, kidnapping and house robbery.

The body of Bonisiwe Mabuza (37), who had been missing since June 25, was found in a shallow grave at the Luphisa cemetery in Pienaar, Mpumalanga, yesterday.

She was murdered.

According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli, Mabuza’s VW Polo was found in a secluded area in Pienaar on the day she was reported missing.

All of the wheels, a side mirror and a backseat were removed.

Some items from her house were also missing, including a TV and fridge.

Over the weekend, the SAPS took two people, a male and a female, in for questioning.

This led to a breakthrough and the recovery of some of the items, says Mdhluli.

Both suspects were arrested and a third suspect handed himself over to the police yesterday.

Mdhluli says the three suspects face charges of murder, kidnapping and house robbery.

They are due to appear in the KaNyamazane Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

Mdhluli says more charges could be added as the investigation unfolds.
