Manhunt underway for 2 Kruger National Park poachers

A search is underway for two poachers after a confrontation with Kruger Park rangers left their accomplice wounded.

Kruger National Park rangers encountered three poachers in the Kingfisherspruit section yesterday.

South African National Parks spokesperson JP Louw says one of the suspects was armed, and a confrontation ensued, reports Lowvelder.

One individual was wounded and the other two fled.

Louw says a doctor was called to the scene to treat the suspect before he was transported to a hospital.

Police processed the crime scene, and a heavy-calibre rifle was recovered. Louw adds that the search for the remaining suspects continues.

It is currently unclear as to what was being poached.
