Man shot during Ekurhuleni armed robbery

A Mr D delivery man is fighting for his life after being shot twice during an armed robbery.

A delivery motorcyclist languished in pain for more than an hour after criminals shot him twice outside a residential property on Biddulph Street in Witfield, Ekurhuleni.

While the police have not yet responded to Boksburg Advertiser’s request for details, it is understood the victim, a man, went through the ordeal after three armed men accosted him as he was pulling into the driveway on Wednesday.

According to the owner of Legendary Guardians Exclusive Protection, Clinton Festraets, his team responded to the attack, and information gathered at the scene suggested that the Mr D motorcyclist knocked off from work and was on his way to visit his friend who lives in Biddulph Street.

“As he was pulling into the driveway, the three men approached him and shot him twice; once in the stomach and once in the leg. They then took his delivery bike and cellphone, before fleeing the scene,” explains Festraets.

Response teams from different security companies and community patrollers, and later the Boksburg North police, arrived at the scene. Officers and onlookers immediately called the ambulance, which arrived more than an hour later – and took the man to a hospital where he is still fighting for his life.

Legendary Guardians recovered the motorcycle around the corner, but the phone was still missing.
