Man shot dead in Limpopo bar

Malamulele police in Limpopo are searching for a gunman involved in a fatal shooting at a bar lounge in Mavambe village on Friday.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, officers were alerted to the shooting at 20:00.

When they arrived, they discovered two people had been shot.

The first victim, a 35-year-old man, was found lying motionless on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, while the second victim sustained serious injuries.

Emergency medical services were called to the scene and certified the first victim dead. The second victim was transported to a local hospital.

Preliminary investigations indicate that an unknown man entered the bar lounge and shot the deceased. In the process, another man was shot, says Ledwaba.

The [shooter] fled the scene on foot. Reports suggest that he was then picked up by someone driving an unidentified vehicle, says Ledwaba.

The motive behind the shooting is unknown.
