Man killed in suspected hit at Sibaya petrol station on M4
A spate of shootings across Durban left three men dead in three days, with the latest killing near Sibaya believed to have been a hit.
A person was killed in a shooting at a petrol station off the M4 near Sibaya in the early hours of this morning.
Northglen News reports that, according to KZN VIP’s Emergency Medical Team spokesperson Gareth Naidoo, the shooting is a suspected hit.
“Our medical team responded to the scene, where they found a male believed to be in his 40s who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the victim showed no signs of life and was declared deceased on the scene,” he says.
3rd shooting in 3 days
This is the third shooting in Durban in the past three days.
Yesterday, a man in his 40s was fatally shot in the Mariannhill area.
In that incident, paramedics found the driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
“Paramedics assessed the man, however there was nothing paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene,” explained ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
On Friday, a man, also in his 40s, was fatally wounded in a shooting on the Chatsworth Main Road.
“Paramedics were shown to a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Due to the severity of the man’s injuries a decision was made to call in the Netcare 911 helicopter for transportation to a hospital,” Jamieson said.
The man, who was in a critical condition, later died of his gunshot wounds in hospital.
