Man in custody after Christmas Day murder in George

Conville police are investigating the Christmas Day killing of a 35-year-old man in Rosemoor, with a suspect taken into custody.

Conville police are investigating a murder docket following the death of a 35-year-old man in Miller Street, Rosemoor, George, on Christmas Day.

George Herald reports that Southern Cape police spokesperson Warrant Officer Christopher Spies said the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are under investigation.

Man dies after street fight

“Reports available indicate that Conville police members responded to a fight and on arrival the injured man was already taken to hospital. He was declared deceased by medical personnel on arrival.”

The incident happened at about 18:00.

Suspect in custody

A man has been taken into custody in connection with the killing.

He will appear in court once charged, Spies said.
