Man disappears in Mpumalanga, vehicle found stripped
The vehicle of a man who disappeared from his house, telling his housekeeper to take the week off, was found abandoned near White River.
The family of a man who disappeared in Mbombela on February 3 is sick with worry after his vehicle was discovered with no trace of him.
Dwayne David Nash (45) allegedly left his rental residence in the city at about 08:00 earlier this month. He reportedly told his domestic worker that he was going away for a week and that she could take leave during his absence, reports Lowvelder.
Nash’s family lives in Nylstroom, Limpopo. His nephew Heinrich Britz spoke to Lowvelder.
“We understand that he left without mentioning his intended destination,” said Britz.
He described Nash as a slender man, weighing 75kg and 1.79m tall, with green eyes. He added that they have not been able to reach Nash since February 7.
On Thursday, the family received a call from a man in Tzaneen, Limpopo, from whom Nash had bought the vehicle he was driving.
“He told us that the police informed him the vehicle had been found stripped in the bushes between White River and Bushbuckridge,” said Britz.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Captain Mpho Nonyane-Mpe confirmed the discovery.
“According to the records, the vehicle belongs to someone else, but an investigation is still underway regarding the matter,” said Nonyane-Mpe.
Meanwhile, Britz said he personally registered a missing person’s case with the Nylstroom police.
He said anyone with information that could assist in tracing his uncle can contact him on 067 404 5440.
