Grade 12 mother murdered, allegedly by boyfriend in KZN
A school-going mother of a two-year-old succumbed to her injuries even though neighbours immediately responded to her cries for help.
A Grade 12 pupil was assaulted and throttled to death over the weekend, allegedly by her boyfriend.
Zanele Khathi (18), a matric pupil from the KwaDumisa area in the Umdoni Municipality in KZN, lived with her grandmother at the time of the attack.
She was the mother of a two-year-old.
Witnesses reported seeing the 25-year-old suspect entering Khathi’s home and hearing her cry out for help shortly thereafter.
Even though her neighbours responded to her cries immediately, Khathi succumbed to her injuries.
KZN Social Development MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza says she is outraged by the incident.
