Police are investigating a murder after a man's body was found in the bushes along Riverside Road in Durban North, with a knife discovered nearby.

Greenwood Park police in Durban North are investigating a murder case after a body was found in the bushes along Riverside Road.

Northglen News reports that a member of the public flagged down a Marshall Security officer just after 12:40 yesterday.

“The individual reported having spotted a body in the bushes along the uMngeni River,” says company spokesperson Tyron Powell.

“Our officer confirmed the presence of the body of an approximately 30-year-old man lying within the mangroves. The officer called for further assistance, and a trail of blood was observed leading from the Riverside Road pedestrian walkway down to the location of the body.”

A knife was also found at the scene.

“Due to the difficult terrain, SAPS and Metro Police Search and Rescue teams were called in to assist with the retrieval of the body.”
