Couple in critical condition after Glenashley shooting

Two people were injured in Durban North, with police recovering a firearm and investigating possible domestic violence links.

Two people are in critical condition following a shooting on Minerva Avenue in Glenashley, Durban North, yesterday afternoon.

Northglen News reports that at approximately 15:00, Marshall Security and Durban North SAPS responded to reports of a shooting. Netcare911 paramedics were also immediately notified.

On arrival, responders found two patients with gunshot wounds. According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, both victims were in critical condition and are currently being treated by Advanced Life Support paramedics from Netcare911.

Investigation underway

“It is believed that the incident may be domestic-related, however, the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation,” Powell says.

A firearm was recovered at the scene, which was subsequently cordoned off and secured for further investigation by police.
