Concern after 3 killed in separate Pietermaritzburg incidents

Three killings in three separate incidents within two days has raised the alarm among residents of the KZN capital.

A spate of shootings throughout Pietermaritzburg over the weekend has raised concern over the rate of crime in and around Pietermaritzburg. Three people were killed in three separate incidents that occurred across the city this weekend.

In Copesville, a metered taxi driver was shot multiple times a few metres from his house on Saturday night. It is believed the man had been dropped off near his house by his colleagues.

In another shooting incident on Saturday night, a 24-year-old man was killed outside a nightclub on Theatre Lane. In the third killing, a woman was beaten to death in her house in KwaPata, allegedly by two men she was drinking with.
