Chuck Norris passes away at 86

A family statement confirms that a legendary martial artist-turned-actor died in Kauai, Hawaii.

It was just 10 days ago that Chuck Norris posted on Facebook that he does not age, but rather ‘levels up’. This caption accompanied a ‘Reel’ celebrating his 86th birthday.

However, reports yesterday surfaced that Norris suffered ‘some sort of medical emergency’ in Kauai, Hawaii. It has now been confirmed that the legendary actor has passed away.

Family statement

“While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family,” a statement by the Norris family reads.

The statement adds that his family is grateful for the prayers and support sent his way during his hospitalisation.

“While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived, and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends.”

Career highlights

Norris rose to global fame as a martial artist-turned-actor, best known for his lead role as Cordell Walker in the long-running TV series Walker, Texas Ranger. He also became an action film icon through roles in productions such as Way of the Dragon, where he starred opposite Bruce Lee, and the Missing in Action franchise, cementing his status as a defining figure in martial arts and action cinema.
