Cash-in-transit heist in Kagiso leaves 5 vehicles damaged

An eyewitness says two vehicles chased a CIT van and the occupants then proceeded to bomb the cash van.

A cash-in-transit (CIT) heist occurred on Masedi Street in Kagiso this morning.

The incident reportedly left five vehicles severely damaged.

According to eyewitness Tebogo Mashinini, the CIT van was chased by two other vehicles, believed to be driven by robbers, who bombed the CIT van to grab cash.

Officials cordone the area off.

The police have confirmed to Krugersdorp News that there will be updates once all evidence has been gathered.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes for the time being.
