Police are still working to determine the sex and race of a decomposed body that was found floating in Inanda Dam, north of Durban.

A severely decomposed body was recovered from Inanda Dam, north of Durban after it was spotted floating in the water yesterday, reports The Witness.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, authorities said the sex and race of the deceased could not immediately be determined.

Members of the Durban Metro Police Search and Rescue Unit, working with SAPS Search and Rescue Unit, responded to the area near Mshazi Road in Mabedlane, Qiniselani Manyuswa.
