Ballito angler lands catch of a lifetime

Wayne Duncan camped out on the Crocodile River to pursue his dream catch.

Some fishermen have a ‘whale of a tale’ for every catch, but Ballito resident Wayne Duncan does not need to exaggerate when he tells of his recent catch.

He recently reeled in the fish of a lifetime, securing his legitimate bragging rights.

The seasoned angler has been chasing his dream of catching a common carp of over 20kg for years and managed not one, but two last week.

Wayne took his boat to an undisclosed location on the Crocodile River in the North West to accomplish the feat.

“I camped on my boat, anchored it and slept on it, staying day and night in the cold,” he said.

“I caught many fish and eventually managed to get two over 20kg – the absolute catches of a lifetime.”
