Alleged Tembisa bogus doctor remains in custody

A woman who has allegedly been impersonating a doctor at Thembisa Hospital is due to again appear in court on August 5.

Nthabiseng Ramatlala was remanded in custody when she appeared in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Ramatlala was arrested at Thembisa Hospital on June 18 when she was caught allegedly impersonating a doctor.

After her arrest, she was detained at the Tembisa Police Station and faces charges related to posing as a medical professional.

At her previous court appearances, her bail application was postponed for verification of her residential address.

Ramatlala had initially listed her mother’s residence on her bail application but the court heard that her mother refused to accommodate her during the trial period.

As an alternative address, Ramatlala offered up her aunt’s home address but the address could not be verified either.

On July 16, her bail application was again postponed for verification of yet another address that the court would find suitable for the duration of her trial period.

Ramatlala is due to again appear in Tembisa Magistrate Court on August 5.
