8 killed, including 5 children, in KZN N2 crash
Of the 10 people in a van involved in a crash with a truck, only two survived and were taken to hospital under advanced life support care.
Eight people, including five children, were killed last night after a van and truck collided on the N2 near Scottburgh.
The Witness reports that, according to IPSS Medical Rescue, on arrival, paramedics were met with a horrific scene.
A van with 10 occupants collided with the back of a truck, resulting in two occupants being critically injured.
“Sadly, the remaining eight occupants of the van had sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased on scene,” said IPSS Medical Rescue.
They added that the two critically injured patients were stabilised on scene and transported to a nearby hospital under the care of an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics and emergency medical and rescue services.
