60 injured, 1 dead in truck accident outside Pietermaritzburg
Multiple ambulance services were on the scene of serious accident involving a truck that was transporting labourers.
Multiple people were injured and one person died after a truck carrying labourers overturned just outside Pietermaritzburg this morning.
Garrith Jamieson, the director of ALS Paramedics, says multiple ambulance services were on the scene.
“At this stage, it is believed that one person has been killed and approximately 60 people have been injured.”
ALS Paramedics from the Pietermaritzburg branch were on the scene in Richmond, outside Ixopo, just outside Pietermaritzburg.
A number of people were treated at the scene.
Multiple ambulances were on scene and people had to be transported to various Pietermaritzburg hospitals for treatment, says Jamieson.
