4 shot dead inside Eastern Cape informal settlement shack
Police are appealing for information as detectives work to determine the motive behind the murders of four people.
Police are investigating the murders of four people, whose bodies were discovered inside a shack in the Solomon Mahlangu Informal Settlement in Walmer, Eastern Cape, early this morning.
The Witness reports that, according to police, officers were called to the residence at about 12:20, where they found the bodies of two men and two women.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a man and a woman were found lying next to each other in the sitting room, while another man and another woman were found on a bed in the bedroom.
All four victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and were declared dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the killings are still under investigation.
It is not yet known if any items were stolen from the property, and the motive for the murders remains unclear, said police.
No arrests have been made.
