3 gang members arrested for murder in Soweto

A man was shot multiple times, allegedly by members of the Fast Guns gang.

The Eldorado Park SAPS Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) swiftly arrested three suspects in connection with a gang-related murder that took place in Eldorado Park, Soweto, on Friday.

The CPU members responded to a shooting in Kremetart Street at around 20:30.

According to Sergeant Fezeka Khobo, Eldorado Park SAPS communications officer, the deceased was playing dice with friends when three suspects approached. One of them allegedly opened fire with a 9mm firearm.

“The suspects allegedly pursued the deceased, shooting him multiple times. They accused him of being a Varadore gang member, claiming they were Fast Guns gang members.

“Fortunately, the police arrested the suspects, all juveniles, and detained them at Walter Sisulu,” says Khobo.

The shooter was arrested for murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and two accomplices were arrested for possession of live ammunition.

The Eldorado Park SAPS station commander, Brigadier Maluleke, commended the CPU’s excellent work and urged them to leave no stone unturned when it comes to firearm-related crimes.
