Two suspects were killed and two others were apprehended after a high-speed chase on Tara Road in The Bluff, KZN, this afternoon.

The suspects were driving towards Merebank at the time.

According to sources at the scene, the suspects allegedly tried to hijack a car but were swiftly thwarted by law enforcement officers.

In a bid to evade arrest, they sped off towards Tara Road. Security companies, SAPS and Durban Central Police all joined the chase.

A pedestrian was hit by the suspects’ car while trying to cross the road. He was treated at the scene by paramedics, and transported to a medical facility.

A source said: “The two arrested suspects will be handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.”

Attempts to get a comment from the police were unsuccessful at the time of publishing as it was an active crime scene.
