2 men expected to appear in court over Hyde Park shooting

The men linked to a shooting in an upmarket Johannesburg suburb have been formally charged as police continue investigations.

Police have confirmed that the two suspects, aged 28 and 33, who were brought in for questioning following a shooting in Hyde Park yesterday, have been officially arrested, reports the Rosebank Killarney Gazette.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, the suspects are expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempted murder.

The arrests follow a shooting earlier in the day in which a 23-year-old man, who is an employee at the residence, was shot and wounded.

He was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

At the scene, the K9 Unit, detectives from the Bramley station and the forensic crime scene management team carried out investigations.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown at this stage.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
