Smooth milk jelly with syrup-soaked strawberries and rosewater

Indulge in the creamy, delicate texture of milk jelly, topped with syrup strawberries and crunchy pine nuts.

This dessert is bound to become one of your go-to treats when you’re craving something that’s simple to make but still looks impressive. It’s a perfect mix of smooth, creamy milk jelly, sweet syrup-soaked strawberries, and a little touch of rosewater that adds a delicate, fragrant twist. The best part? It sets much faster than traditional jelly, so you won’t have to wait around forever – more time to enjoy the good stuff! We love using grape jelly because it gives the dessert a bright pop of colour, but feel free to swap it for strawberry or raspberry jelly if you prefer.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Follow the instructions on the box to prepare your jelly. Once it’s done, set it aside to cool slightly.
  2.  In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk until it starts to steam. Then turn the heat off, so it’s warm but not boiling.
  3. Whisk the cooled jelly into the warm milk, one spoonful at a time, making sure it dissolves fully. Add the icing sugar and rosewater, then stir to combine. Let this mixture cool to room temperature.
  4. Pour the mixture into your dessert mould and refrigerate for a few hours, or until it sets.
  5. Once the jelly has set, top it with your syrup-soaked strawberries and a sprinkle of crunchy pine nuts.

Top tip: To make the strawberry syrup, slice strawberries into halves. In a small saucepan, heat a tablespoon of honey (optional) and simmer the strawberries for a few minutes until they soften.
