World Nutella Day has been spreading joy since 2007, thanks to Sara Rosso, a food blogger who turned her love for this iconic hazelnut spread into a global celebration. Fans around the world embraced the idea as the perfect excuse to indulge in spoonfuls (or tubfuls!) of their favourite treat. Over the years, it’s become a delicious phenomenon, uniting chocolate and hazelnut lovers everywhere.
We can’t ‘nut-tella’ you enough how much we love this day! So grab your jars and celebrate with this irresistible Nutella Chocolate Mousse topped with whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 200g Nutella
- 300ml heavy cream (double cream), chilled
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Whipped cream, for topping
- Chocolate shavings or hazelnuts, for garnish
Method
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the chilled heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside about 100ml of the whipped cream for topping.
- In a separate bowl, combine Nutella and vanilla extract. Gently fold in the whipped cream a little at a time, until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
- Spoon the mousse into serving glasses or bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- Once chilled, top the mousse with the reserved whipped cream. Add chocolate shavings or crushed hazelnuts for a finishing touch.
