It’s #MeatFreeMonday! Treat your family to sesame Hawaiian stir fry. The magic of this recipe lies in its balance of sweet, savoury, and nutty flavors. Think crispy bell peppers, tender julienne marrows, juicy pineapple chunks, and crunchy carrots all tossed in a soy glaze. Top with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds and fresh spring onions and serve over steaming noodles.
Ingredients
- 1 packet McCain Hawaiian Stir Fry
- 500 grams McCain Broccoli
- 1 cup Sweet and Sour Sauce
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup water
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons chilli flakes
- 3 teaspoons crushed garlic
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 large onion thickly sliced
- Sesame seeds
- 1 packet noodles – cooked and set aside
- Chopped spring onions
Method
- Heat oil in large pot and fry the onions until translucent.
- While the onions are frying, combine the sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, water, black pepper, chilli flakes and crushed garlic and mix well.
- Add the Hawaiian Stir Fry and Broccoli to the onions and allow to cook for 10 minutes before adding the sweet and sour sauce mixture.
- Mix well and cook for 2 minutes before adding to the cooked noodles, combine and stir through and remove from the heat.
- Adjust seasoning and sprinkle with spring onions and sesame.
