Cheers to summer with the perfectly pink Rosé Spritzer

Rosé spritzers are light, making them ideal for warm weather or when you want to enjoy wine without the heaviness of a full glass.

Rosé is perfect for a spritzer. Its light, fruity, and floral flavours make it an ideal base. It works well with almost anything you want to mix it with, whether that’s a splash of citrus, a few fresh berries, or even a sprig of mint. Plus, the pretty pink colour alone makes it a crowd-pleaser. For the best results, opt for a dry or semi-dry rosé. The slight acidity balances perfectly with the sweetness of sparkling water, keeping the spritzer crisp and refreshing without becoming overly sugary.

Ingredients

  • 150 ml chilled rosé wine
  • 75 ml sparkling water or soda water
  • 15 ml elderflower liqueur
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh berries, citrus slices, edible flowers, or a sprig of mint for garnish

Method

  1. Fill a large wine glass or tumbler with ice cubes.
  2. Pour in the rosé wine and elderflower liqueur.
  3. Top with sparkling water and stir gently to combine.
  4. Add your preferred garnish.
  5. Serve immediately.

Tips

  • While you don’t need an expensive bottle, choose a rosé you enjoy drinking on its own. The wine’s flavour will still shine through in the spritzer.
  • If you’re preparing this cocktail ahead of time, leave out the sparkling water until just before serving to preserve the fizz.
