KZN-born hip-hop duo Blaq Diamond has released a tribute song for late rappers and dear friends Bokang Moleli and Lizwilenkosi Mtshali, who were popularly known as Malome Vector and Lizwi Wokuqala.
The news comes shortly after their record label Ambitiouz Entertainment reported their death. The Lesotho-born rapper and his collaborators were reportedly on their way to his home country from Johannesburg to shoot a music video, when a horrific accident occurred on the N1.
Three people died and three others were transported to a nearby hospital.
The duo, who had formed a close relationship with Vector and Wokuqala, took to Instagram to express their grief, and their gratitude for the journey they got to share with the young artists.
“Rest in peace, our dear brothers, your legacies will continue to inspire and resonate with music lovers everywhere,” the statement published by Blaq Diamond on behalf of Umuthi Records read.
Since then, the duo has released a song and a music video to honour the memory of their brothers. With the title Again, the song embodies the unique but familiar Blaq Diamond sound we have come to know and love. With a catchy hook and emotional verses, the song is sure to leave a lasting impression on listeners and lovers of music.
Internet users and Vector’s fans took to the comments to express their approval of the song. They feel the rappers did justice to the memory of their fellow artists.
