Local artist is a force to be reckoned with

Bassie said she realised that she had talent at the age of six when she was always chosen for lead singing roles for concerts.

Up-and-coming amapiano artist Basetsana “Bassie” Maluleke is slowly but surely making waves in the music industry with her unique feel of music.

The Windmill Park resident, who is known for her hit singles, such as Bathandwa and Sizani, has recently released another banging track titled Ngiyazifela.

The song details the harsh realities she went through with her previous relationship.

The Universal Music artist worked with producers Tyler ICU and Kaygee the Vibe on the single. On October 1, she dropped her extended-play (EP) called Msholokazi. In the EP she worked with MFRSouls, TmanSA and other artists.

According to Bassie, what sets her apart from other artists is that she is a phenomenal storyteller who pours her heart out in all the songs she does.

The 21-year-old said she realised that she had talent at the age of six when she was always chosen for lead singing roles for concerts.

“The response I’ve received from the public has been wonderful. I appreciate the love and support my fans, friends and family have shown me,” she said.

Besides music, she is studying towards a Bachelor in Education at the University of Free State.
