Lady.Blck, whose real name is Puledi Mangena (19), has released her hit single Ubaba.
The Dawn Park songstress officially released the hit on April 8.
Mangena, who’s also a Miss East Rand finalist and a runway model, worked with producer Hendrick Kgomo.
Speaking to the Advertiser, she said: “I would love to showcase my talent and build my dream as I grow stronger and brave. I want to be featured with musicians around Johannesburg and I want the biggest artists to recognise my voice.”
Regarding Ubaba, she recorded the song based on gender-based violence.
“It carries a message that people should not only look at one side of the story when it comes to rape in particular. Consider also the story of the accused men.”
Lady.Blck also paid tribute to Kgomo, who is also known as “Lezza”.
“Lezza is the producer, he made the beats, helped record the song and helped me fix my errors in my lyrics.”
