Kahn cannot wait to see you at The Festival @ St Dunstan’s

Kahn Morbee cannot wait to play his solo tracks and several songs from the Parlotones at The Festival @ St Dunstan’s on May 13.

Morbee has loved music all his life and said that when you love something, it becomes a part of your life.

Although the artist was born in Belgium, he moved to South Africa at the age of two.

“There was no exact time that I discovered my love for music,” Morbee said.

“I just always knew and followed that love.”

According to Morbee, the process of creating his music is not only based on personal experience.

“It is based on observations, other people’s lives; even a word from an advertisement can spark a song idea,” he said.

Morbee was also the winning coach on The Voice SA in 2016.

“It is more than just a voice that I listen for,” he said.

“I listen to a voice that is unique and has potential.

“I also look for character in a person because that is as important as having a unique voice.”

Morbee will also be touring soon to play his new album, which consists of “no particular sound”.

“There is a mixture of ’80s flavour and duets with several female artists,” Morbee added.

The tour will be in Johannesburg in July, but for now, Morbee will be rocking the socks off fans at The Festival @ St Dunstan’s.

“I like the family-orientated vibe,” he said.

“Audiences can expect a mixture of music from me and the music done by the Parlotones over the past years.”

Festival tickets can be bought from St Dunstan’s College at 54 Millburn Street, the Benoni City Times offices in Northmead Square on the corner of 14th Avenue and O’Reilly Merry Street, Mugg and Bean at The Square at Farrarmere and Wakaberry in Oakfields Shopping Centre.

General access ticket prices are R150 and tickets sold on the day at the gates will cost R200.

Backstage VIP tickets are R400, but VIP tickets bought on the day will be R500.

Parking is R50.

The gates for the family fun-filled festival happening at St Dunstan’s College will open from 1pm to 10pm.
