Following a one-year absence, the programme is set to continue its efforts to provide a platform to community-based theatre groups and poets.
Groups who pass the audition phase of the programme will be selected to receive training and the winning production will participate at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.
Supported by the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, and driven by the Gauteng Theatre Practitioners Committee, the programme is aimed at growing theatre and supporting community projects. Among others, participants are exposed to workshops on theatre scriptwriting, acting and directing.
Auditions will be held in Reiger Park Hall on Sunday, May 15 at 9.30am.
